Brockville has the world's best-kept diving secret: we have some of the best fresh-water wreck diving in the world right in our backyard. The fresh water preserves the wrecks so that we can still dive ships that sank in the 1800's! The zebra mussels have enhanced the underwater visibility, but they're razor sharp so don't forget your gloves. Water temperatures reach the mid-70's by late August, so you can comfortably wear a 7mm full suit. No thermoclines in the river means that you won't suddenly get chilled during your dives.
Besides wreck diving, drift diving is a popular alternative, offering views of underwater cliffs, boulders and crevices. Relax as the current pulls you past the river's underwater attractions. Enjoy our underwater playground, but remember: take only pictures and leave only bubbles; and kill nothing but time.
